Curator's Note: I
was requested to complete a Science Investigation Unit on electrical circuits for 4th grade because
the teacher knew I'd have an idea on how to build model houses. I was to help 21 students finish building 4-room
houses out of cardboard, wire in electricity to each room, and to build furnishings for the house. Two days
prior, I produced booklets for each student on how to build furniture and built an example model. I decided to build
a stateroom from the RMS Titanic - specifically the sitting room of cabin B-52, part of the B52-54-56 & Private
Promenade suites. A much better suite & dining room may be viewed at: http://www.titanic.exposeert.nl . Here are photos of the finished product with its hand-crafted centerpiece chandelier featuring 94 Swarovski
crystals:

I had to rearrange what was on which wall to make this model work. |

I even hand-painted Wisteria pattern china for the suite. |

Wall sconce, promenade window, doorway, and fireplace also light up. Wooden beams are actual wood. |

I wasn't able to get the detail of the fireplace that I wanted to, but this is close enough. |
